The youngest of the Big Three, Big Kenny, was born December 9, 1970, and grew up in the East Tennessee coal country, in a town called Cannelton, with his mother, father, and older brother. His family sold cars, and he dropped out of school in the ninth grade to help. His first local success was in country music with his band, Big & Rich, in 1989. In 1993 he met his wife, Aimee Graham, who had a young daughter and had just moved to the Nashville area. They married in 1996.
In 1996, Big & Rich embarked on their first national tour--a run that took them as far west as Chicago, and as far south as Washington, DC, and as far north as Atlantic City--and that first trip in was, well, a bit of a culture shock for Kenny, who had never left East Tennessee before. But they saw a lot of the country in just a few weeks, and they became good friends with a number of the other acts they played with. This jaunt gave them a real feel for the kind of country music the country public wanted to hear, and they took that knowledge back to their home state, where they continued to hone their craft. When Kenny and Aimee got their first son, in late 1998, Big & Rich reformed, and for the following decade they toured the country, building a loyal following that continued to grow. Big & Rich's last album, Make Me Proud, won a Grammy in 2008.
