The main concept that ASUS nailed with the T.Sonic on the back of the board was that the operating system doesn't get in the way of audio. None of the ASUS-made ASUS LN-CH HD graphics provides any audio output, so that is not where the T.Sonic comes in but instead it is the Toslink port, being able to switch your audiophile PC volume to speakers or headphones simply by plugging a portable audio device into it.
Sound is also enhanced when the onboard 4-channel audio uses the larger six-pin power connector than the standard three-pin you will find on the majority of motherboards. This gives a higher quality power connection and the T.Sonic's USB2.0 ports are again designed specifically to PS/2 standard and can provide power to just about any USB device making it a great consideration for multiple sound amplifiers.
This USB port also has 192K modem and storage support and there is a built-in mic and headphone socket for PC bi-directional communication. The T.Sonic's HDMI port can output your TV or home theatre sound at 1080P and provides an A/V pass-thru for a total of 5.1 sound or two other HDMI outputs at 720p.
The I/O panel on the T.Sonic almost has to be listed as one of the anime-inspired features of the board. All of the connection pins for components, such as the SATA and serial ports, are identical to those found on the front panel of the motherboard. The I/O panel is on the bottom-left and is surrounded by the audio and USB ports.
Shopping for a games console and wanting 1080P game play? If you don't have a PS4 already then the T.Sonic will be able to handle it. The onboard HDMI port lets you hook a PS4 or other devices up and it is then possible to perform in-game video out through the T.Sonic's outputs. d2c66b5586
