Tied 4-4 after the doubles, GU fell behind in their first five singles matches. Crichlow dropped the first set to Vanier's Sean Van Deuren before forcing a tiebreak. In the second, Crichlow won the tiebreak over Van Deuren, but the match came to a halt after the third set tiebreak. Molazter suffered his first loss in a match since middle school as he was beaten by Tjark Visser in straight sets. Lohser came back from a 5-0 deficit to edge out Shetty 6-4, 7-5. Gaffney lost his first set and came back to take a 5-3 lead in the second set, but Shetty rattled off three straight points to even the match at 5-5. Lohser held serve to win the second set and Shetty was unable to return the favor. Lohser took the third set in a tiebreaker and then went on to win the match in four sets.
