Yeah, I'll admit that the Switch is probably appealing to me for the freedom and pure convenience it affords, but the PC is the console-level game system I prefer the most (and I'm also the one who gets the most enjoyment out of it). I'm not a mobile gamer at all. When it comes to consoles and PCs, the PC is the game system I like the most. Sure, the mobile games are very convenient and their convenience is awesome, but the freedom you get as a PC gamer is unmatched by anything on mobile. And the fact that the Switch is a console-level game system is very appealing to me, if only because I've played a LOT of games on PC, and if I have to move back to a mobile game system, I'm afraid that I'll be totally alienated.
I had a little fun with the Switch today, went to Best Buy and tried out the gaming section. Only had time to play a couple games, but I'll do a big review on it soon...it's a far superior experience than I ever could have imagined. I also picked up Splatoon 2 which is fantastic (and that's really all I have to say on that, I just couldn't find a word to describe how much I love it, and I'm glad I have a Wii U to play it on).
If you want the experience of playing a long deep RPG on a console that isn't a handheld, I highly recommend the Chrono Trigger HD remaster for the Switch. If you want a long deep RPG that requires you to play through the whole thing in one sitting, I highly recommend the Fire Emblem games. A fun game to play on the go. A fun and deep game to sink many hours into. Also, if you want to go with something that can be both a re-watch and play, I highly recommend Super Mario Odyssey. It's got a fun story, and most of the side quests are optional, making it very replayable. The music is excellent too. And it's good for travel. It's decent game to play on the go and watch a movie on the sofa while you do. And with the Odyssey and Switch, it can be something you can watch your kids play too. They may only have 2 controllers to play it with, but it's still good to be able to get some quality time with your kids all the same. It's also a good game to play at a sleepover/party.
